SAS manual for the Principals LEAD program, designed to improve school improvement through leadership

Sa Aklat Sisikat Foundation (SAS), a movement with a vision to build a nation of readers through its reading program, was established ten years ago by my partner Lizzie Zobel, myself and a tiny team of two other advocates. It was essential for us to find committed souls who believed in what we were doing and who were willing to help us get our project off the ground.

As founding editor, Therese was an answer to our prayers as she helped us create Star Teacher magazine. This is a magazine filled with inspirational stories as well as technical information for teachers. It is distributed to Philippine public school teachers nationwide and has created an impact, in rekindling their passion for teaching. Therese was also instrumental in helping the foundation design a user friendly SAS Teacher Training manual, based on a curriculum designed by our reading experts, with her editorial skills and knowledge of the Filipino psyche. My partner and I enjoyed working with Therese because of her professionalism and creative instincts. We look forward to many other projects together!

Concept paper for Star Teacher magazine.

Therese was the founding editor of a project that has meant a lot to me, Star Teacher magazine. Star Teacher magazine is published by Sa Aklat Sisikat in cooperation with Summit Publishing, and distributed to thousands of public school teachers. Therese was the heart and soul of our project; with relentless passion she shared her extraordinary creativity and experience to make Star Teacher magazine a relevant and unique tool for teachers in the Philippines. I am very proud of Star Teacher and I know that Therese deserves most of the credit for what it has achieved for Sa Aklat Sisikat's efforts to support teachers.

Presenting the collaboration website of the Community of Practice on MfDR in Colombo, Sri Lanka, and Singapore

I was fortunate enough to work with Therese Ng over a number of years in relation to the website and related communications for results management at the Asian Development Bank. Notably, this work included the initiation, commissioning and maintenance of the innovative website for the results management community of practice sponsored by ADB. On a number of occasions Therese also acted as our spokesperson on communications within the community and delivered briefings on the operation of our virtual network. I enjoyed working with Therese immensely! She is not only a very capable professional; but, she combines a fine work ethic and complete teamwork with a marvelous disposition for this work. Therese Ng is the "go to" person for web design and operation!

The 2009 publication and collaboration website of the Community of Practice on MfDR in Colombo, Sri Lanka, and Singapore

Therese has been working with ADB-sponsored Community of Practice on Managing for Development for three and half years. Throughout this period, I have come regard her as the most important and effective player to keep our COP work, active and useful. I have also been inspired by her dedication, efficiency and sheer hard work toward our COP's objective. Our COP management team members have learned a lot from her both professionally and personally. In certain sense, her name represented our COP both in the circle of COP members and with the other development partners.

The ECG collaboration website and group photo taken at the Spring 2008 meeting in Tunisia, North Africa

In 2007, ADB assumed responsibility for administration, operation, maintenance, and development of the Evaluation Cooperation Group's website, ECGnet. This tool, originally dedicated to fostering collaboration and harmonization of evaluation work among the heads of evaluation in multilateral development banks, had fallen into disuse and was in sore need of revitalization.

Therese Ng worked hard on this difficult assignment with me and, in the course of a few months, helped turn the site around to unanimous satisfaction. The site now boasts innovative design and architecture, favors content development, and can be maintained with ease. The revamped communication tool has inspired the members of the ECG to issue more joint statements, and is one of the more accessed platforms hosted by ADB.

Therese played a crucial role in the success of the ECGnet, and recognition came when ADB was requested to provide secretariat services to the rotating ECG Chair, which Therese helped extend with ease and effect. Throughout 2007-2008, Therese and I worked closely on all matters related to the ECG and its communication platform.

All involved appreciate her knowledge of web applications, calm and patient manner, problem-solving abilities, public relations skills, and ability to work efficiently and with good humor with never-failing professionalism.
